How to set up Suggested Tour

Overview:
The Suggested Tours feature in ResPax enables you to promote additional tours to customers, enhancing their booking experience and potentially increasing sales. Based on your configured settings and categories, suggested tours appear in key areas within the Online Booking Engine (OBE):
Pop-up Screen – Displays up to two suggested tours when triggered.
Cart Page – Shows the same two suggested tours at the bottom of the page, encouraging customers to continue shopping.
This feature allows for greater visibility of relevant tours, helping customers discover additional experiences that align with their interests.

Step 1: Create a Tour Category for Suggested Tours
To enable Suggested Tours, you first need to create a Tour Category, which groups the tours that will be recommended when one of them is booked.
Navigate to Settings > Tour Categories.
Click on + Add Tour Category.
In the pop-up window, enter a name for the category and select "Suggested Tours" as the category type.
Click Save to confirm.
Once created, the new category will always appear at the bottom of the list, with the category type displayed next to it.

Step 2: Add Tours to the Suggested Category
The tours included in the Suggested Tours category will be displayed as recommendations when a customer books one of them.
In the Tour Categories list, click the dropdown arrow next to the Suggested Tours category.
Drag and drop the desired tours from the right-side panel into the category.

Only tours that are both web-enabled and ticketable will be displayed in the Suggested Tours view in OBE.
If there are multiple Suggested Tour Groups, the recommendations will be based on which group the booked tour belongs to.
If a tour is part of multiple Suggested Tour Groups, the pop-up will display all suggested tours from those groups, sorted alphabetically by Tour Code.
If a Suggested Tour Group contains more than three tours, the system will display a random selection of tours from that group.

Step 3: Enable Suggested Tours for Your Site
Once you've added tours to the Suggested Tours category, you'll need to enable the Suggested Tours feature for your site. This ensures that the selected site will display suggested tours during the booking process.
Go to Settings > Sites.
Click the pencil icon
next to the site to open the site edit view to enable suggested tours.
In the settings tab, scroll down to the Cart Page panel and enable "Suggested Tours Popup Enabled"

Step 4: Generate Links
Once the Suggested Tours feature is enabled, the tours will pop up when an agent or customer navigates to the Cart Page in the OBE, as long as the site code with the enabled setting is used.
Go to Tools > Generate Links.
Use the generated link for the site where you've enabled the Suggested Tours feature.

Display of Suggested Tours in OBE
When booking a tour, a "Suggested Tours" pop-up will appear during checkout. The tours displayed in this pop-up come from the same Suggested Tour Group as the tour being booked and are listed alphabetically by Tour Code (not by tour names or position within the category).
When clicking "See All Tours", the page will return to the first "Choose a Tour" section, displaying the same bookable tours that were originally available for that generated link.
Additionally, these suggested tours will also appear at the bottom of the Cart Page to encourage customers to continue booking.
To summarize:
The pop-up only appears if the booked tour is linked to a Suggested Tour Group.
Suggested tours are displayed alphabetically by Tour Code.
A maximum of two suggested tours will be displayed at a time.
If the booked tour is not part of any Suggested Tour Group, the pop-up will not appear.
